Week One - shutter Research
Francesca Woodman
.jpeg)
American photographer Francesca Woodman has eighteen rare vintage black and white photographs in the Artist Rooms display, from a collection once owned by the artist’s boyfriend. Woodman’s photographs exhibit many influences, from symbolism and surrealism to fashion photography and Baroque painting. They have a timeless quality that is ethereal and unique. The artist began taking photographs at the age of thirteen and though she was only twenty two when she took her own life, she left behind a substantial body of work. April 3,1958 - January 19,1981 years after she killed herself at the age of 22

Richard Avedon (May 15, 1923 – October 1, 2004) was an american fashion and portrait photographer. An obituary published in The new York times said that "his fashion and portrait photographs helped define America's image of style, beauty and culture for the last half-century" In 1944, Avedon began working as an advertising photographer for a department store, but was quickly endorsed by alexey brodovitch, the art director for the fashion magazine also promoted Avedon's career at Harper's. In 1945 his photographs began appearing in Junior Bazaar and, a year later, in Harper's Bazaar.

What is Photography & What does it mean to me ?
What does Photography mean to me?
Photography is a big passion of mine that i truly enjoy, i can show many expressions and put my heart out to the thing i try do best, i have taken many events as in my fathers racing events, family friends wedding, babys and baby bumps. Just doing the little things to get my name out there to show others what i can do with myself. Photography came into my life when i got myself a fujifilm and took some awesome photos at racing and seeing other photographers on the racetrack helped me guide where i wanted to go. I started up a facebook page to show family and friends my work i ended up getting amazing feed back which pushed me to upgrading and looking into getting classes to learn more and more.
What is Photography?
The word Photography comes from greek , Photo for light and Graph for Drawing, Drawing with light is a way of describing photography to this day photography has become a powerful meaning of communication and a mode of visual expression that touches humans lifes in many ways.
